Pictured above are my January TBR picks from my TBR Bingo challenge.
CHALLENGE ONE:
“Read a full series”
Series: The Illuminae Files | Jay Kristoff & Amie Kaufman (Illuminae, Gemina and Obsidio)
This is a series that I have just completed the collection for. I had vouchers for christmas and I just could not resist buying these. I am apprehensive about reading the Illuminae Files because it is completely different to what I have read before. However, I am so pleased I picked this challenge this month so that I can dive in and see what all the hype is about!
CHALLENGE TWO:
“Read a stand-alone book”
Book: The Wicked Deep | Shea Ernshaw
The Wicked Deep has been on my shelf for a long time and I have heard mixed reviews in relation to it. I am pretty sure that it is a stand-alone and that there will be nothing else to follow it. However, we will pretend it is for the purpose of this challenge!
CHALLENGE THREE:
“Read a middle-grade book”
Book: The Girl Who Drank The Moon | Kelly Barnhill
I have been looking forward to reading The Girl Who Drank The Moon ever since I bought it last month. I have heard so many amazing things about it. As soon as I picked this challenge there was no doubt that I was going to pick this book up! I hope it lives up to all of its good reviews.
CHALLENGE FOUR:
“Read a book over 500 pages”
Book: Skyward | Brandon Sanderson
I read my first Brandon Sanderson book last night and I immediately fell in love with him as an author. I love his world building, his writing style and the characters that he creates. This book is literally just over 500 pages and I cannot wait to pick it up. I can’t wait to see what he has in store for me in this book. I am intrigued by the fact that it is a YA book and not an adult, I am looking forward to doing a comparison.
CHALLENGE FIVE:
“Read a classic”
Book: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn | Mark Twain
As part of my “reading resolutions” for 2019 I wanted to read more classics, I don’t believe I read any last year! I used to love this story as a child so I felt that I should start with a book that I am familiar with before I progress to a more complex classic. I hope I enjoy reading the book as much as I enjoyed the story when I was a child.
THATS A WRAP!
So there we have it! My January 2019 TBR Bingo picks. I have a wide variety of books here and a lot of pages to read so I better get a move on. I will post my results at the start of February in the “wrap up” part of this blog. Stay tuned!
