“Humans often fail to see what is close to them and obvious to others.”
The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion is a story about love, life and lobster every Tuesday…
Love isn’t an exact science – but no one told Don Tillman. A thirty-nine-year-old geneticist, Don’s never had a second date. So he devises the Wife Project, a scientific test to find the perfect partner. Enter Rosie – ‘the world’s most incompatible woman’ – throwing Don’s safe, ordered life into chaos. But what is this unsettling, alien emotion he’s feeling?
I thoroughly enjoyed my time reading this book, it amused me throughout and I thought that the way it was written was very clever. It is just a light hearted read that gave me a break from what I would normally read.
This book is very addictive, I read it on my kindle as my bedtime read and just struggled to put it down and go to sleep. I just wanted more and more of the characters and wanted to know what came next.
I loved Don as the main character, I love the representation of Autism within this character I feel like it was done so well. I loved seeing his character develop as he gained new life experiences. His character made me laugh throughout and I would love to have a Don in my life, maybe as a best friend? Anybody?
The romance between him and Rosie is lovely. It is definitely not your typical romance, Don makes sure of that. But I think that is why I loved it so much. I was definitely routing for their relationship and in most parts felt like a third wheel. Rosie is such a strong and wonderful character. I love that this is not your traditional relationship within a book, it shows that relationships aren’t all fairytales and romances. Please can I have one of Don’s questionnaires? I want my husband to fill it out, that way he can understand what I am looking for in my relationship. I mean I don’t want much … honest.
I don’t want to write too much as I don’t want to give anything away at the moment because I want you as a reader to discover all the wonderful things about this book for the first time while you are reading it. I definitely think that you should pick this book up and you will not regret it. I can’t wait to read the sequel which I will dive into immediately.
